James Winter

James' insatiable passion for music started back in his mid teens, playing in bands as both a drummer and vocalist. He's also always been fascinated with the idea of DJ'ing and producing, which led him to take it a step further into being quite heavily involved in making and playing house music from early 2009 onwards.

His interest in the genre led him to start playing in his hometown of Leeds, which is soaked in house music history. It saw him promote his own club brand, booking acts such as Jordan Peak, DJ W!ld, Adam Shelton & more over a year long period, in between supporting various other international DJ's across the UK.

Not just satisfied with just his hometown, James became a resident at London clubnight; Apogee Presents... who went onto book Hot Since 82, Audiojack & more.

Whilst all this was happening, James wanted to expand on his musical horizons by starting to produce. His first track saw him get signed to Leeds label Love Not Money records. Since then, James has amassed over ten releases, including tracks released with King Street Sounds, DJ W!lds Catwash Records, Savoir Faire Musique, Plastik People Recordings & many more.

Now in Australia, he holds a residency at Melbourne's well respected OneSixOne, which has been open now for over 15 years. It's seen its share of prolific residents in the past, which include; Tornado Wallace, Mic Newmann and Sonny Fodera, to name just a few.

He's now on the cusp of being involved with some major names and clubs in house music in 2015/16. Watch out for new music dropping regularly over the next few months to get a taste of what James is releasing.
